有一棵栎树，其树荫能够盖住几千只的牛，却被木匠认为那是没有用的树。因为其材质跟石头差不多，做船容易沉，做棺椁放到土里又容易腐朽，做家具会裂，做门柱会长虫，做门窗会流黏黏的汁液。木匠哪里知道，正是因为其无世俗的用处，才能让这颗栎树顺其所性、尽其所长，终成神木而让众生膜拜呢！这个故事启示我们无用之处有大用的人生智慧啊！
