II Then a mile of warm sea-scented beach; Three fields to cross till a farm appears; A tap at the pane, the quick sharp scratch And blue spurt of a lighted match, And a voice less loud, thro' its joys andfears, Than the two hearts beating each to each! 灰莽的海，黑长的岸； 金色的半月大而低； 微波从沉睡中惊起， 火一般地翻腾起阵阵涟漪， 当我驾船迅速驶向海湾， 船却戛然扎进泥潭。 而后是一英里海香暖人的沙滩； 穿过三块田地才见一个农场； 轻轻叩响窗棂， 一个尖锐的打火声， 火柴迅速燃起， 蓝光明净而耀眼， 似惊似喜，口中搅动着 声响不高的话语。 两颗跳动的心紧紧相融。
