Here on the Wealth Preservation Podcast, we LOVE when people share their stories about giving back to the community and having a heart for serving a need. So naturally, we were OVERJOYED to have a combination of two awesome topics: philanthropy and entrepreneurship. Our guest, Kris Putnam-Walkerly, is the combination of those 2 things in human form! She admits, early on, that the thought of being a charitable giving consultant scared the daylights out of her, but the more time she spent working with foundations and philanthropists, the more she realized she needed to step into her calling. Kris began a consulting firm giving philanthropy advice and guidance to others, who were either looking to make an impact or unknowingly wasting their philanthropic efforts. Over the years, she realized that she could make an even bigger impact by writing Delusional Altruism, which allows others to learn from Kris more easily without booking an appointment. In this episode, we dive more into her upbringing, early career, and why she chose to go into business for herself rather than continue in the nonprofit world.
