Is it hard to recover and make up after a fight? According to Dr. Harville Hendrix, it's not about how often you fight - it's about how quickly you can recover. Kamala and I agree. It's during those fights and those times of distance that many couples grow apart, fall out love, or decide it's just not worth it. But here's the thing -- every couple struggles sometimes, and every couple has to master the critical skill of recovery and reconnection. Before I continue, let me tell you that Kamala and I are like any couple - we argue and we mess up. Earlier this week we had one of those fails. We got into an argument, things weren't handled the best. We had to take a breather, take a time out, and then come back together. Fortunately Kamala and I know some secretes to cover the gap, make up, and get connected quickly. In today's episode we will delve into the skills needed for recovery, the mindset to help you get the love back, and have that amazing connection. Click to Tweet - If we slow down when we are upset and do one simple connection activity, we can resolve any issue. Big Take Away - Being vulnerable isn't always easy, but it's the key to resolving our problems and connecting. website, here Suggested Reading Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life (Edition 2nd) by Marshall B. Rosenberg - Do you hunger for skills to improve the quality of your relationships, to deepen your sense of personal empowerment or to simply communicate more effectively? Unfortunately, for centuries our culture has taught us to think and speak in ways that can actually perpetuate conflict, internal pain and even violence. Nonviolent Communication partners practical skills with a powerful consciousness and vocabulary to help you get what you want peacefully. Emotional Intelligence: Why It Can Matter More Than IQ - Everyone knows that high IQ is no guarantee of success, happiness, or virtue, but until Emotional Intelligence, we could only guess why. Daniel Goleman's brilliant report from the frontiers of psychology and neuroscience offers startling new insight into our "two minds"—the rational and the emotional—and how they together shape our destiny. Conscious Loving: The Journey to Co-Commitment -You will learn how to: Let go of power struggles and need for control; Balance needs for closeness and separateness; Increase intimacy by telling the "microscopic truth"; Communicate in a positive way that stops arguments; Make agreements you can keep; Allow more pleasure into your life.
