This is another edition of EMSCEP Radio, from our on-location coverage of the Fairfax Fire Rescue EMS Week Training Symposium, during EMS Week. In this episode, we talk with Dr Margaret Griffen, the Chief of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery at Inova Fairfax Hospital. Her talk at the conference was on Traumatic Brain Injury and she took some time to talk to us about Secondary Brain Injury before she ran back to the hospital. Margaret M. Griffen , MD, FACS Chief, Trauma Acute Care Surgery Associate Professor of Surgery VCU Dr. Margaret Griffen is a general surgeon board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. She joined Inova Medical Group in 2007 and currently serves as the Chief of the Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. She completed her surgical training and fellowship at the University of Kentucky in 2000. Dr. Griffen manages patients with a wide variety of surgical illnesses and has a special interest in caring for critically ill surgical patients.
