At 15 years old, Brad Evarts nearly died in a car crash that claimed two lives. That moment shaped everything — setting him on a path defined by resilience, faith, and second chances. From building iconic restaurants in California, to experiencing devastating setbacks, to moving to Texas with his wife Julie and creating Moose Farmz — Brad’s story is bold, raw, and deeply inspiring. Today, their handcrafted pozole, gazpacho, and fresh salsas are quickly becoming favorites at the Barton Creek Farmers Market and beyond. Beyond food and business, Brad trains with me weekly. At 60+, his discipline, energy, and childlike spirit are powerful reminders that it’s never too late to reinvent yourself. Many listeners will also recognize Brad as the father of Lauryn Bosstick, creator of The Skinny Confidential. Having Lauryn as a client and friend for the past four years has been a profound gift in my life — and training with Brad has given me a deeper appreciation for where so much of her brilliance and strength come from. This conversation is about faith, family, resilience, and the fire to keep living fully at every age.
