Questions About This Episode

What is EP24: Overcoming Limiting Beliefs and Sharing Unforgettable Stories with Expert Copywriter and Client Sarah Temte about?

"Storytelling is the most powerful way to generate attention. Humans naturally want to hear about humans. We love being a fly on the wall in someone else's life. We love finding ourselves in any story." - Sarah Temte (5:53 - 6:11) Malorie Nicole Abundantly Clear You have to be confident and interesting to stand out from the ticker tape of endless advertisements, sponsors, promises, and offers. Whatever it is, you know you've got it. You have the passion, expertise, and drive. You're on point with posting, emailing, and updating on the daily for your business. So why is no one knocking down your front door to work with you? Sadly, it's possible your messaging is just not that interesting. Thankfully, my close friend and client, Sarah Temte, is here to help. At just twenty-three years old, Sarah is a successful copywriter and expert messaging strategist for service-based business owners. Coaches and consultants need their audience to believe in their magic before hitting the buy button. Sarah knows just the content and copy that will grab attention. "If people aren't consuming your stuff, it's not because their attention spans have died. Your stuff just isn't interesting to them ." - Sarah Temte (21:32 - 21:40) In the world of marketing, bridging the gap between buyer and seller is built on the understanding that feelings matter. People are consuming more media than ever before. Day in and day out we are all exposed to an alarming rate of advertisements, sponsors, promises, and offers. To stand out you must forgo any ambiguity and get specific and intimate in your content and copy. You need to aim for the heart of those reading and listening. By tugging on the heartstrings, you pull your audience in emotionally to believe in what you have to offer Everything rests on the meet-cute. You have to be irresistibly interesting at the very beginning to grab attention for your brand. Here are a couple of key factors to help you stand out online: Show up in different ways in different areas of your life. We've all heard the phrase, "just be you." But the truth is there is so much about you. Every individual has many colorful facets of their being. For example, the role you consume on date night will not be the same at work. In both cases, you are still your authentic self, but you're fulfilling different and specific roles. It's okay to expose these intricate levels of who you are and the various hats you wear. Choose to turn up the volume on your personality. Note to self, this doesn't mean to turn up the frequency of your online presence. We have good and bad days. You don't have to fake or force anything. Instead, when you decide to show up online bring all of you, your preparation, and readiness to pour into your audience. You want to bring your best hilarious, sassy, [insert adjective] self. Don't be afraid to target an intended audience. If you're speaking to everybody, you're speaking to nobody. When you share in a more general manner you miss an opportunity to find your people. Be bold. Choose to create content and copy with a purpose. Keep in mind one person in your real life that represents your ideal avatar and direct all your communication at them. Share really specific stories. All marketing material should pass what Sarah calls the "Polaroid Test." Every client should be able to pull a visual image and snapshot from whatever story you're telling or concept you're sharing. Even more so, you want to move the client in such a way that they feel something. Storytelling is the key. Don't shy away from sharing. While every story may not resonate with your client, humans are very good at translating another's pain and emotion. We all empathize and feel on incredibly deep levels. "What is the human connection that you're making with your audience? When they're reading what you're writing and putting out there, how do they feel?" -Malorie Nicole (23:37 - 23:58) Generalized advertisements with special offers and empty promises are a dime a dozen. They roll off tongues so fast and inauthentically that potential buyers pass by without a second glance. Stories are the fishing lines that will help you seal the deal. They hook the client by latching on their heartstrings and reeling them in. While storytelling is key, every business owner has a different approach in how and when to cast their line. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to walk in someone else's footsteps. You can be a trailblazer. The approach you take in showing up online and marketing your brand should be unique. It's okay to listen to your gut and color outside the lines. Aim to think on a larger scale beyond the strategies your fellow colleagues and competitors are exploring. Trust your instincts and allow your ideas to leap outside of any preconceived notions of "right" and "wrong. " You are on a journey to find what fits best in your lifestyle and reach your intended audience. Use the factors above to gain confidence in materializing and marketing content and copy that tugs at the heartstrings. When you allow yourself to be vulnerable in sharing who you are and what you're all about, clients will be knocking down your front door. Show how truly interesting you are to make your brand unforgettable!
