Emile Bryant is a speaker and author who also calls himself an "innovator." In his words, his life has been a petri dish, where new and different things are added and subtracted, to find what works and what doesn't. In this episode of Unlimited Perspectives - the podcast all about personal growth with a touch of spirituality - Bryant relates his personal story of service in the U.S. Air Force, and his transition to a private-citizen life of helping others "consciously becoming their best selves." One of highlights of the interview is Bryant's suggestion to step out in the "general direction" of your dreams, goals and intentions. So many people are looking for the "magic bullet" - some specific set of instructions on how to move ahead in life. Yet life changes! People, experiences and everything else in life comes and goes over time… There's no way to be exactingly specific about what you "should" do in life. Bryant suggests a more general, wide-open outlook on life. Be aware of what you would like to do, where you would like to go, and take steps in that direction - without needing to know the exact steps along the way. Another big self-help / personal development idea is to be mindful of the messages and clues personal pain is giving you. Bryant says pain is not necessarily a bad thing…it's simply an indicator of change. Bryant says that with mindfulness and the memories of what you have been through with pain in the past…you can know that there is something better and greater for you, waiting on the other side of the current painful experience. Bryant says it's all about knowing that - in his words - "every day has its share of joy, work, pain and pleasure." Yet the bottom line is that every day ends, and another one is coming tomorrow.
