Mindeulle Kathleen Yoon is a queer Korean American adoptee living and learning on traditional Lenape lands, in the city of Philadelphia. They are a visual artist, movement artist, nature photographer and poet. They are also a MovNat Level 1 certified trainer, rewilder, and nature connection mentor/wilderness guide in training. For the past three years they have been immersing themselves in reconnecting to ancestral ways of being in relationship with nature and crafting wild foraged sculptures from natural materials. They are currently developting two different projects related to movement and nature connection: a landscape movement art project and a series of embodiment and nature connection workshopws for queer and female-identified teens. In this episode we talk about: Mindeulle's story about how they became drawn to nature and reconnecting to the Earth What "rewilding" means and how Mindeulle approaches rewilding in their life Mindeulle's tips and entry points for reconnecting to nature and rewilding What MovNat is and how it gives an alternative to working out at the gym and helps you move more freely in nature How Mindeulle deals with their feelings of loss around their connection to nature and ancestry and why creating safe nature experiences for groups including queer, non-binary, female, and People of Color is important The journey Mindeulle went on to choose their own name How Mindeulle likes to express themselves creativetly and what it means to be "passively active" What Queer Feminism means and why it's so important to Mindeulle For show notes and links to resources mentioned in the show go to
