Delighted to see you back again and this week I'm delighted to be joined on the show by the awesome Henry Girls, aka Karen, Lorna and Joleen McLaughlin. The McLaughlin sisters have a long history and commitment to music and their material belies a huge range of influences that go beyond the trad folk tag, bringing in elements of Americana, bluegrass, right the way through to the nu-folk stylings of Scotland's Lau, something backed up by the Henry Girls's work with Lau and Blue Nile producer Calum Malcolm. The Henry Girls are playing a headline slot in The Ramor Theatre in Virginia on October 18 , before they start a run of five dates around Ireland with Clannad, which starts in Limerick on October 29 and sees them visit Cork Opera House, the Waterfront in Belfast, the Royal Theatre in Castlebar before the final date at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin on November 2.
