ಮಾನವ ತನ್ನ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಯುಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಿ ಹಲವಾರು ಸಾಧನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನದ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಾನವ ತನ್ನ ದೈಹಿಕ, ಮಾನಸಿಕ, ಮತ್ತು ತಾರ್ಕಿಕ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅಭೂತಪೂರ್ವ ಮಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಂಡುಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ನಾನಾ ತರಹದ ಯಂತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ದೇಹದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯ ಸರಹದ್ದನ್ನು ಮೀರಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಮಾಜವನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ರೂಪಗೊಳಿಸಬಹುದು? ಈ ಟ್ರಾನ್ಸ್-ಹ್ಯೂಮನಿಸಮ್ ಎಂಬ ತತ್ವ ಹೇಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪರಿವರ್ತಿಸಬಹುದು? ನಮ್ಮ ಈ ಸಂಚಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗಣೇಶ್ ಚಕ್ರವರ್ತಿ ಪವನ್ ಶ್ರೀನಾಥ್ ಅವರ ಜೊತೆ ಟ್ರಾನ್ಸ್-ಹ್ಯೂಮನಿಸಮ್ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಚರ್ಚೆ ಮಾಡಿಡುತ್ತೇವೆ. Technology has always helped human beings accomplish more than their physical and mental capabilities. But what if technology and human beings could become one? Gene-editing, life extension, physical augmentation and other transhumanist ideas are becoming technological possibilities, which could enable this convergence in the coming century. What is Transhumanism and how is this school of thought blurring the lines between man and machine?
