Questions About This Episode

What is 003: Be Like the River - What can water teach us about achieving our dreams? about?

When I was growing up, my mother (who was a very spiritual person), would dabble in all sorts of different philosophies and religions, extracting useful bits from each and sharing them with me. Being so young, I never really realized how big of a gift this was. I never quite understood the wisdom that she was sharing, even though I tried! As an adult, I find it so fascinating to dive back into her teachings and the ancient texts that she collected. Now that I'm old enough to understand, I've realized how valuable these insights really are -- for personal AND professional development. The expression that my mother used most often when I was growing up was to "be like the river." Of course, this made little sense to me as a little girl, but now that I'm older I am blown away by how well this metaphor applies to all facets of our lives. The water metaphor provides insights that can help us lead lives that are free of envy, competition, strife, and resistance. It can help improve interpersonal connections, business dealings, and self acceptance. Want to learn how to be like the river? Then this episode is for you! In this episode, I'll reveal: Why water is hands-down the most useful metaphor for how you should live your life How "being like the river" can lead to incredible changes in your personal relationships AND your approach to business! The four vital lessons for achieving success that we can learn from water -- and how to implement them in your life
