Alan Lau, founder of the Frank Soo Foundation, is here to share the incredible story of Frank Soo, a pioneer for Chinese players in English football. Frank Soo was the first Chinese player to represent England, earning nine caps for the national team during World War II. Although these wartime internationals are not officially recognized, Frank's contributions to the sport cannot be understated. In addition to his time with the national team, he played for clubs such as Leicester and Luton Town. Following his playing career, Soo went on to become a coach and manager, working with clubs in Scandinavia, Italy, and the Netherlands. His passion for football extended beyond his own career, leaving a lasting impact on the game. Our guest, Alan Lau, has been deeply involved in Chinese grassroots football for over a decade, organizing tournaments and fostering the growth of the sport in his community.
