Today we have a presentation from our health and medicine segment our panel, Immunotherapy: New Hope for Cancer. There has been an explosion in our knowledge about cancer. Our understanding of genetic mutations has illuminated how cancer is born, grows and metastasizes. Therapies that target cancer mutations and components of the immune system have changed how we treat and even prevent cancer. Recently, the convergence of cancer genetics and the immune system has brought about even more promising results that have had a profound impact on cancer patients’ lives. This panel features Stefanie Joho, Oncology Researcher, patient advocate, and consultant, alongside Luis Diaz, the head of the division of solid tumor oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Harold Varmus, Nobel Laureate and Former Director of the National Cancer Institute.
