We definitely go raw on this episode as I mispronounce a term and butcher her last name (insert facepalm)!! In all seriousness though, Summer Pedersen is an amazing Certified Doula and Trauma Free Birth Advocate who has endured her own close loss of her younger brother due to Suicide. This episode starts off heavy to recognize those who suffer from mental health and need someone to just reach out. My condolences to her and her family. We hope that this episode can shine some light on the importance of checking on our loved ones and to let those suffering know - YOU ARE NOT ALONE. 988 is the crisis hotline for anyone suffering or knows someone suffering but visit your nearest hospital for any emergency or any thought of it becoming one. We take a detour of looking into what being a Doula means and how you can be your own advocate in your birth. That detour though is not out of the Big Picture Path chosen for Summer though. She always knew she wanted to work with babies and mamas but now she holds her brother close in her heart. She is an incredible mom to 6 and an Doula you can depend on while assisting to bring life into the world in hopes of the birth you desire.
