But now, more than ever, K-12 school districts must take control of their own story and make a concerted effort to share all the positive things happening in our schools each day. In this episode, school leaders discuss 1:1 technology in schools, creating positive school cultures and effective school leadership strategies. Guests: Kevin Case is in his 17th year as the superintendent at USD No. 448 – Inman Schools Kevin loves to share how leveraging the power of technology can open doors that never seemed possible. Kevin (@InmanSuperC) and Inman Schools (@InmanSchools) are actively working to share their story through the use of Social Media. Kevin helps teachers, administrators and board members understand the importance of leveraging the power of social media to build their social media presence and attract positive attention to their schools while helping educators build powerful Professional Learning Networks (PLNs). Inman Schools was the first school in Kansas to become a 1-1 iPad district in August 2011. Inman Schools received the honor of becoming an Apple Distinguished Program in November 2012 and recently learned that distinction has been extended through 2017. In November 2014, Kevin was one of 115 superintendents selected nationally to attend the Superintendent's Summit in Washington, DC. Kevin just published his first book - Opening Doors, Creating Possibilities & Realizing the Enormous Potential of Strategic Social Media. Interested in obtaining a copy? shop.essdack.org Jeff has been a superintendent for 10 years and recently became superintendent at Washington CSD, in Washington, IA, located in Southeast Iowa. Prior to that he served as shared superintendent at Newell-Fonda and Albert City-Truesdale in NW Iowa. Newell-Fonda was one of the first high schools to implement a 1:1 laptop program in their high school in 2006. He is married to Paula, a kindergarten teacher, and has 3 children, Brady a freshman at Buena Vista University, a daughter, Taylor, a junior in high school, and Mason, a 5th grader. Dr. Daniel Frazier is in his 19th year as a public school superintendent, and he is in his fourth year as superintendent in Litchfield, Minnesota. Litchfield is a one-to-one school in grades K-12 and provides laptops to all students in grades 6 through 12. Litch is actively involved in the national Future Ready schools movement and is the first school in Minnesota with a digital citizenship curriculum that is nationally certified. Dr. Frazier was National Tech Savvy Superintendent of the Year in 2012 and was a Bammy! Award nominee as superintendent in 2014.
