What can we do to create a "kids first" school culture? In this episode, school leaders challenge the status quo of traditional thinking and advocate for a more student-centered environment that gives kids a voice in their own school experience. Guests: Todd Nesloney is the Principal/Lead Learner of Webb Elementary in Navasota, TX. He is the 2015 Bammy Award Recipient for Elementary Principal and the 2014 Award Winner for Classroom Teacher of the Year, the TCEA Teacher of the Year for 2014, a White House Champion of Change, a National School Board Association "20 to Watch", and Center for Digital Education "Top 40 Innovators in Education". Todd is also the author of children's book "Spruce & Lucy" and the co-author of the Award Winning Book, "Flipping 2.0". He is also the co-host of the popular education podcast series "EduAllStars". Adam Welcome is the Principal of Montair Elementary School in Danville, CA. He is a marathon runner, a workshop fan, and a husband and father to two children. He serves on the Remind Advisory Board and is the ASCA Principal of the Year. Adam is also the co-host of the podcast series "Kids Deserve It". Brad is about to start his third year as superintendent of Warren ISD in Warren, TX. Prior to becoming superintendent, Brad was an elementary principal for six years and junior high principal for one year as well as an assistant superintendent for two years. He recently began his 22nd year in education. Brad was also a finalist for 2015 TCEA Superintendent of the Year. He is a strong believer in the power of positive thinking and the impact of positive culture on student growth.
