Today's guest, Mandy Pipher is a Toronto-based freelance writer and editor who has been involved in community organizing, political activism, and education since she was twelve years old. In 2015 she crowd-funded her way to the University of Oxford, where she earned a Master's in the English Language; her crowdfunding campaign was actively supported by Margaret Atwood. Mandy is also a writing instructor at the University of Toronto's Innis College and a part-time Professor of English and Communication at George Brown College. She is the co-host of the upcoming podcast 'Mansplaining with Mandy', in which she and Scott Colby (Toronto Star Opinions Editor) talk frankly about current gender issues—and how men can learn to better understand the experiences of women (debuting January 2019). She and Dr. Antonella talk about sexual harassment in the media and in the digital space. Mandy also gave tips and advice on how to start writing if you want to voice out your opinion and/or share your story. They also delve into what is mansplaining and how to deal with a mansplainer.
