Guest Bio Charles Lane has worked with a variety of healthcare provider types to develop, implement, test and maintain their emergency management programs. The past 11+ years of his career has been in the field of emergency management, initially in the realm of hospital security. That time has been spent developing new programs and processes for hospital security officers, physical security, and disaster response, including the implementation of hospital-specific disaster response teams. Charles currently holds a variety of instructor certifications in the areas of emergency preparedness and security. Also, he is a Certified Hospital Emergency Coordinator III through Augusta University, Certified Emergency and Disaster Professional through the International Board for Certification of Safety Managers, and an International Fire Service Accreditation Congress certified Hazardous Materials Operations Level Responder. His passion is working with individuals to help them grow their skills, so they possess the confidence to respond effectively to stressful and dynamic events. The State of Emergency Podcast is a passion project started by Charles and a longtime friend to discuss emergency preparedness for professionals and individuals interested in the field of emergency management.
