This week we talk to Christa López the Director at Texas General Land Office. Christa has taken on the unique role of running a traditional job of FEMA, direct disaster housing. Christa discusses how Texas took on that job and how she is fulfilling that responsibility. Guest Bio Christa López is the Director for the FEMA short-term disaster recovery housing program. This is a mission that is a first of it's kind, where FEMA has asked a state to run a Direct Housing Mission. Christa earned her EMT license and two Masters degrees- one in Counseling and one in Emergency and Disaster Management and is in her dissertation work for her Ph.D. in Public Policy Administration. Christa's past experience involves working in Higher Education for 18 years.
