Mary Smull is unusual as an artist in that she is also excellent with numbers and math. She is the bookkeeper to many local arts organizations, including artblog. Mary also has a community spirit. She is a member of the Philadelphia alternative gallery Grizzly Grizzly, a collective where she curates shows and helps to organize projects like the CSA and the upcoming Citywide festival. She has a BFA from University of the Arts and an MFA from Cranbrook Academy. In this interview Mary talks about her relationship to work, her belief in the truth of her projects and the guilt of unfinished projects that hangs over all of us.
