Truth or Popularity? The Courage to Proclaim the Gospel

In a world that values acceptance and avoids discomfort, the witness of St. Stephen challenges us to reconsider how we share the Gospel. His boldness was not recklessness, but a response to hardened hearts: echoing the very way Jesus Himself spoke: gentle to the repentant, yet firm with the unyielding. The temptation today is to dilute truth for the sake of being liked, to speak ambiguously so as not to offend. Yet the Gospel cannot be compromised. True evangelisation requires both courage and wisdom: the courage to remain faithful to Christ’s teachings, and the prudence to discern how best to reach each heart. Ultimately, proclaiming the Gospel is not about winning approval, but about leading souls to the Truth, Jesus Christ himself.
