#155 - The Magi's Journey

We're in Epiphany, the season when light breaks into darkness and Christ is revealed to the nations. And it begins with foreigners. The Magi weren't Jews. They didn't have the Scriptures. They didn't worship in the temple. But they saw a sign in the heavens and they came seeking. They traveled hundreds of miles through desert and danger, following a star, asking one question: "Where is he who has been born king of the Jews?" Meanwhile, in Jerusalem, the religious experts had all the right answers. They could quote Micah 5:2 without hesitation: "Bethlehem." They knew the theology. But they didn't go. They stayed five miles away from the fulfillment of their own prophecies, content with knowledge but unwilling to seek. This is the difference between knowing about God and actually seeking him. In this episode, we confront a penetrating question: Are you seeking Christ, or are you settled for secondhand religion? Are you willing to follow the light wherever it leads, even when the path is unclear, even when it costs you something, even when it takes you out of your comfort zone? The Magi came to worship.
