It showed a masked figure wearing gloves, dark clothing, and a backpack approaching the front door. He had a gun holstered awkwardly near his groin and tried to obscure the camera before destroying it. Hours later, the home's lone occupant, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, would fail to appear for her church's virtual Sunday service. Members of the church would contact Nancy's relatives, who were at her house within an hour.
