Game Night(游戏之夜）

Friday night is family game night at the Turners' house. （在特纳家，周五晚上是家庭游戏之夜。）Each week, a different person in the family chooses the game.（ 每个星期，都有一个人负责选择游戏。）This week, it was Cody's turn to choose. （这个星期，轮到科蒂来选择。）He chose his favorite board game, as always. （他像往常一样，选择了他最喜欢的棋盘游戏。） It was thundering outside, but no one minded. （外面打雷了，但大家都不在意。）They were having fun playing their game. （他们玩游戏玩的高兴着呢。）About halfway through（玩到一半）, just as Cody was about to make a big move（正当科蒂要走一大步的时候）, everything stopped. （一切都停止了。）The lights went out!（所有的灯都灭了！） Everyone was quiet for a few moments, （大家安静了一会）then everyone started talking at once.（然后立刻开始说话。） Mom felt her way to a drawer （妈妈摸索着找到抽屉）and got some candles.（拿到一些蜡烛。） Dad found some matches.（爸爸找到了火柴。） Cody made his big move, by candlelight, （科蒂在烛光下走出了一大步）and went on to win the game.（继续赢得了游戏。） Everybody thought this made the game even more fun.（大家都觉得停电让游戏变得更有意思了。） In fact, they plan to play by candlelight next week, too!（事实上，他们计划着下个星期也点上蜡烛玩游戏！） Word list:（词汇列表） drawer: a storage compartment without a lid which slides out of a table, cupboard, etc.（抽屉） candle: a stick of wax that is burned for light.（蜡烛）
