The Best of 2021

2021 was another interesting year globally, and to help us get through another year of the pandemic, we once again turned to music. So, what were the big tracks and record breakers in 2021? Well before you jump into the mix, here’s a quick snapshot: * **Dua Lipa** scored the song of the year on the Billboard Hot 100, AC and Top 40 charts with her track “Levitating”. It also logged 41 weeks in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100. * **Drake** became the first artist to debut No. 1, 2 and 3 on the Hot 100 simultaneously - a feat that only The Beatles had previously accomplished in 1964. He was also named the "Top Artist of the Year” for 2021 (his second time earning that honour). Drake charted 35 songs on the Hot 100 during 2021 — with 13 of those reaching the top 10, including two with “What’s Next” and “Way 2 Sexy,” * **Justin Bieber **became the first solo male to debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 in the same week. * **Ariana Grande** teamed up with **The Weeknd** for “Save your Tears” , and joined Paul McCartney as the only artists with three No. 1 duets ever on the Hot 100. * **Olivia Rodrigo **scored success as the first debut album to spin off two debuts at No. 1 on the Hot 100 * Elton John and Dua Lipa’s smash, “Cold Heart” hit the Top 10 in November, ending a gap of 27 years between Elton’s last Top 10 hit in 1994. * **BTS **was once again named the “Top Duo/Group” for the second consecutive year, notching four on the Hot 100 during 2021.
