In this Podcast, CEO Karan Dharamsi speaks about Passion and the most wrongly shared common advice which is "Never Give Up" So, here's more on the worst advice which is freely given out there: 1) Follow Your Passion and 2) Never Give Up. These are not pieces of advice as a blanket rule, which can be applicable to everyone. Your passion may not necessarily get translated into your career or work that takes to your eventual goal. Which is why you need to put it in the right context. Coming back to advise , follow your passion: First off, passion could be anything. Cooking, shopping, work etc. The first thing to do is ask yourself the question, what exactly are you trying to gain by following your passion? If you are passionate and want to become an entrepreneur, is it to be the powerful leader or make more money? If so, you are passionate about the feeling the stuff will get you and not the act in itself. For example, for anyone who is passionate to become an Actor could be because of the end result of fame, love, and attention from thousands of followers. Sharing a personal example, CEO Karan Dharamsi talks about how he is passionate about Acting, Cricket and why he gave up on them! Eventually, you need to question, what are you trying to chase with your passion. Because what really matters is the feelings associated with it. You need to make a factual choice looking at all the pros and cons. You need to realize and accept the limitations and make the correct decision. Ask yourself, what feelings are you trying to chase when you say you want to follow your passion? If your passion has limitations, check an alternate source which can help you chase your feelings. Never follow your passion, follow your efforts because that is what is going to make you feel content. And if you follow the advice of Never Give Up, you will sooner or later end up being in a very frustrated state of mind: Karan Dharamsi shares how he would have been stuck in life with the limitations and realistic limitations related to his passion. In a nutshell, thin about the end state, where you want to be. Your passion could be path 1 which may not get you to the end destination. For most people, passion never translates to their desired state and goals. Pursue your passion don't turn that into your career Give up on your passion and find the actual path which will take you to your actual, eventual goals!
