Teeside Lions and Great Britain Assistant Head Coach Marc Steutel checks in with Chuck to discuss his basketball journey to date. On this episode, the three-time EBL (now NBL) Coach of the year discusses: taking charge at the recent Eurobasket Qualifiers, his rationale behind his surprise signing as Head Coach for NBL Division Three side Teeside Lions, his playing days, transitioning to becoming head coach of the now defunct, Team Northumbria in the NBL, winning the NBL league title in 2017/18 season and the importance of culture in a basketball team. Marc and Chuck also reflect on their rocky player/coach relationship during Chuck’s rookie season and speak on why Team Northumbria were one of the most disliked teams in the NBL.
