Questions About This Episode

What is Strength and conditioning, becoming an MVP entrepreneur and going all in with Brooks Barron. 275 about?

Her is Brooks Story in his own words: I was formerly known as an ambidextrous quarterback and athlete. Went on to play college football, and a graduate assistant in strength and conditioning at Jacksonville State University. Got a job in education as a teacher/coach, got my masters and specialist degree in education and continue to teach and coach for the next 13 years all over AL and GA. As a teacher/coach. I usually had 3 different jobs or more. To be a teacher and a sport coach was priority. We had to be successful in sport and had to make sure we did all the stuff we needed to do in the classroom (usually a PE, Drivers Ed, Health, or Anatomy/Physiology if needed). My third job was my real passion- strength and conditioning coach. It's where I connected with athletes the most and where I could design and implement the programs where i needed to make the biggest impact. In 2007 got my CSCS and dove head first into becoming a great strength coach. But the teacher/coach and my drive to be the best at them all started to take its toll. I eventually got burned out with the demand and wanting to do a better job than I was capable at the time. Long story short, my mission is to create a better generation of athletes than the one before it. We do this by movement based training and testing. We (MVP and Team Sports Performance) have been doing this for around 3 years. And have had great success changing injury rates in athletes. We have reduced injuries to half of what they once were with our teams (based on the research that we have done with UAB Orthopedic Medicine and training staff). Our methods are working and now we are reaching out to expand our model and philosophies to help coaches and athletes around the country. GOAL: One of his primary goals currently is to expand to three locations ACTION STEPS: He is accomplishing this goal by setting a strategic plan and having the marketing in place to be able to grow properly.
