She spent 20 years as the director of The Orion Center for the Study of the Dead Sea Scrolls and currently serves on numerous academic committees including the executive committee of ⁠The International Organization for Qumran Studies⁠ . Her work is focused on different aspects of the Dead Sea Scrolls and early apocalyptic literature, especially hymns and prayers found in the Scrolls.
