Alongside her husband Thomas, she created the first social network for businesses, ‘Ecademy’ which grew to a membership of hundreds of thousands across the globe. Penny was an early adopter of all things digital and built and sold 3 other businesses, spoke on global stages and published a number of books including ‘Business is Personal’. During this time, Penny experienced many successes, including an OBE being awarded in 2014, but also suffered massive financial adversity and emotional hardship. After a scary mental health incident whilst on stage, Penny went through a redesign to lead the life and business she wanted and began to encourage other entrepreneurs to do the same. In this episode we speak about her journey in entrepreneurship, and her views on mental health and wellness, loneliness in business, and why offline networking and community will always have a vital role to play in being mentally fit.
