Set up in the wake of the Second World War, it was designed to maintain peace across the globe, fostering friendly relations between nations. But eight decades on, with the world a markedly different place, what does the organization need to do to maintain its position at the heart of 21st century geopolitics? In this editon of The Agenda, Juliet Mann travels to Madrid to speak exclusively to Maria Fernanda Espinosa – who served as the President of the 73rd General Assembly – one of only five women in history to have held that position.
