Forgiving Love

Forgiveness is a very easy topic until someone steals money from you. This is a very easy topic until you find out they’ve been sleeping with her or him for at least a few years. It’s rainbows and unicorns until it gets real. It’s a neat topic for children but at some point in life – it gets real. It gets hard. The test of the true followers of Jesus is not loving your neighbors. It’s loving your absolutely awful neighbors – you know the ones who call the police on you. It’s not loving your wife, its loving her when she tells you what she did. It’s not loving your kids, it’s loving them when they tell you they are coming out of the closet. We talk about unconditional love, but for many of us – our love and our forgiveness are very conditional. Lets dig in.
