Today I am going to cover how Amazon treats different keywords variations, now keyword variations means a keyword that could be spelled a different way, keywords that could be miss-spelled, plural keywords, stemming keywords, things like that. So let me go over the different keyword variations and how Amazon treats them. Now first off stemming, what stemming is, the definition of stemming is basically reducing a derived word to its root form. So for example fish would be a root word and then fishing would be a stem and fished be another stem and fisher and then fisherman all those would be derivative words. So the stem word on that would be fish. Now Amazon says that you should not use the stemming variations and they give an example, they say, our search engine preforms basic stemming for example it will treat a search for gloves the same as the search for glove and you can actually verify that.
