RSA Exchanges Comment On FSCA Making Crypto A Financial Product

South Africa's Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) released a statement today that they intend to declare cryptoassets "financial products" in early 2021. The declaration would come under South Africa's Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS). The FSCA did not state exactly when the declaration would come into effect, but the authority have invited interested members of the public to submit their comments to the office before 28 January 2021, indicating a likely declaration in late Q1 or early Q2 2021.
