Ep. 9: The Hurt Bae Pt. 1

The timing of this release may be a little ironic considering it's off the heel of (definitely not intentional). However, this hashtag serves as a catalyst to a two-part series about being in abusive relationships. In this episode I share my story, that few people know about, with former CPS worker Lenny Jennison of Victims' Voice. My story is not unique by any stretch of the imagination, considering that 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been victims of abuse by their romantic partner in their lifetime. However, I believe it delves deeper than where only scratched the surface. For those who know me, this story may come as a shock...especially the ones who know the "I don't take shit from anyone" side of me--trust me I was not always that way (and honestly to this day I'm still embarrassed). I implore you to listen, if not for my story (which is not unique or extraordinary), to the advice and resources Lenny gives.
