Dr. Allison Gruber received her Ph.D. in Kinesiology with a concentration in Biomechanics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2012 under the direction of Dr. Joe Hamill . She received her Master's degree in Exercise and Sports Science from East Carolina University under the direction of Dr. Paul DeVita and Dr. Tibor Hortobagyi in 2007. Dr. Gruber's primary research interests include the mechanisms of running related injuries and determinants of metabolic cost in locomotion. Dr. Gruber is an avid animal lover and supports the World Wildlife Foundation, ASPCA, and American Humane Society. She enjoys DIY home renovations, hiking, paddle boarding, and snuggling with her Pit Bulls, Godiva and Cinder.
