Tahlee Rouillon is a music composer extraordinaire at Sonesence. She offers peace seekers an easy way to achieve instant calm with a sonic shortcut called meditones. She also creates bespoke meditation music for other wellness entrepreneurs. I've invited Tahlee to chat with us about sound quality in our podcast recordings. I know sound quality has always been a struggle for me. There's a LOT of technical babble out there and it's really hard to know what's important and what's not so important in the land of sound. Because Tahlee works with women to create beautiful and professionally produced spoken-word meditations, I knew she'd have some really useful tips for getting the best sound quality for our recordings. Listen in as Tahlee and I explore 9 really simple tips for creating podcast sound-quality awesomeness. In this episode we discuss: + Why it's so important for your business to invest in a good quality microphone. + Tahlee's personal microphone and post-editing software recommendations. + The dreaded "Pop" and what you can do about them. + Why a good set of headphones is paramount during the recording and post-editing processes. + Why creating a great quality sound recording is going to save you time and create an awesome final-end product. + Short cuts and useful tricks to know about during post-editing. + What to do if you hate the sound of your own voice. In this episode, Tahlee and I talk quite a lot about the importance of getting a great sound quality recording up front. Fundamental to this, is getting the volume levels correct for both you and your guest at the time of recording. To help you achieve this, I've created a free cheat sheet which steps you through exactly how to check and adjust volume levels during an interview. This is SUPER simple but something I've found most women, when first starting out, don't realise it's something they can and should do (I didn't realise it either!). I've created cheat sheets for both Ecamm Call recorder users and Pamela for Skype users.
