Podcast MD by Ketto's 9th episode features, 46-year-old Mayura Shivalkar. Mayura is not just a daughter, a wife, and a mother but this 46-year-old is also a Triathlete who has completed the Iron Man (swimming, cycling and running) while being diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent 8 chemotherapies, 30 radiation sessions while training for her marathons. Mayura right now has to her credit 7 full marathons, 30 + half marathons- the most recent being the Mumbai Marathon that took place in January 2020. “The battle against Cancer has taught me a lot; the uncertainties in life and how we take life for granted. We should never neglect the smallest of medical conditions and get regular checkups done. A one-hour session for physical and mental fitness is a must,” Mayura says.
