This is the book I keep hearing on every podcast and audible promos. I’ve let it slide for a while and one day while I was at the airport I saw it and thought that maybe it was time to pick it up. It’s a book that’s always gotten my attention for its title. The book, in my opinion, is a reiteration of many things we’ve heard before, but if there’s one takeaway from this book, I can say that the author gave a valid point on the idea of “choosing a problem”. When you make a decision in life, in general, a problem is chosen as well. In the of upgrading from a hardtail to a full suspension bike, we get motivated to upgrade since having a full suspension allows you to have a more comfortable ride that gives you more confidence to plow through the toughest terrains you can think of. Of course this all sounds good, if you have the opportunity and you’re willing to make the upgrade, then yeah, go ahead. On the flipside, from a personal experience, I’ve encountered a serie of hurdles. Negligence is underrated, going full suspension means more moving parts and if you’re not putting enough attention then you get more maintenance than you think. My full suspension bike is currently serviced since my bearings were on the verge of being seized and my brake pads were basically obsolete. Now I’m also dealing with a clunky suspension and headset. Although the book may get redundant at times, I found myself invested in re dialing my perspective on decision making. There’s a benefit in having a more analytical approach when making a decision, even if it investing in developing better decision making skills. Is as if we come to make decisions under the influence and we become hazy and become ignorant of the obstacles it may create on our lives. ¡LET’S CONNECT! ------------------------------------------ Instagram: @parallax_mtb Facebook: Parallax MTB Website: Email: parallaxmtb@gmail.com My Gear:
