Episode 4: Pete Whittaker

In this episode Augustine talks to possibly the best trad climber in the world about offwidths, fingertip cracks and runouts. We also talk about what its like to grow up trad climbing, and how to deal with fear on a scary lead. Pete Whittaker has trad climbed all around the world and has ticks of many a painful crack climb under his belt. A few of the climbs we talk about include Century Crack, a 5.14b offwidth roof crack, his rope solo ascent of Freerider, a 12d on El Capitan, and the Crucifix, another horizontal crack project.
