The Foodie Episode: One Sandwich at a Time, La Nacional and The Impact Network

This episode I present a tasty three course meal of a podcast with organizations that span the spectrum of food's role in our lives from basic sustenance to cultural ambassador to bringing community together. We start with One Sandwhich at a Time's Erin Dinan who explains how half a sandwich spawned an army of sandwich makers across New York that feed the homeless. Then Robert Sanfiz of La Nacional relays the enduring power of the 150 year old Spanish Benevolent Society supporting Spanish speaking immigrants and its beautiful, newly restored restaurant. Finally we end hearing from Katie Kerr of the Impact Network . She is putting together an all-star team of NYC chefs for Chefs for Impact , a yearly event which raises money for their mission of bringing an excellent, technology-driven education to rural Zambia. And I have good friend JP King along to help me tie it all of into a neat bow! First I would like to thank Building Beats and DJ BSNYEA for providing the soundtrack for this episode.
