Licking the Knife is a memoir written by Sabrina Capper in which she tells of a horrific childhood growing up in Oklahoma in a high demand religion. Sabrina's grandfather, the patriarch of the family and respected in her community and church was a monster. We discuss her story and touch on important subjects such as the importance of believing a child when they tell of adults hurting them. I want to say that though Sabrina's life in her youth was horrific, she is now living her best life and has the total support of her husband Dave and son Jack. Our interview is not nearly as graphic as Sabrina's book, but it still may be triggering for some so it may be wise to pass on this episode.
