Station of Crucifixion Was the cross chaos… or was it intentional? From the outside, it looks like everything is falling apart—violence, betrayal, mocking, and death. But what if every detail was unfolding exactly as planned? In this message, we walk through the crucifixion in Luke 23 and John 19 and uncover something powerful: nothing about the cross was random. From Jesus’ prayer of forgiveness, to soldiers gambling for His clothes, to the sign above His head, to a dying criminal finding paradise—each moment was foretold, fulfilled, and deeply intentional. So what does that mean for you? If God was that intentional then… could it be that your life—and even this moment—is not random either? This is more than a story about what happened to Jesus. It’s an invitation to discover how intentional God is about reaching you. Luke 23, John 19 Discussion topics HEAD – What did Jesus say to you through the Word? What stood out to you most about how intentional God was in the details of the cross? Which moment impacted you the most (forgiveness, garments, sign, family, vinegar, or the criminals), and why? How does the story of the two criminals help us understand the difference between being near Jesus and responding to Him? HEART – How did it make you feel? Where in your life do things feel random, chaotic, or out of control right now? How does seeing God’s intentionality at the cross challenge or encourage you in those areas? Do you relate more to the criminal who resisted Jesus or the one who turned to Him? Why? (Pastor put this here to be hard hitting 😁) HANDS – What are you going to do with it? What is one practical way you can respond to God’s intentional love this week? Who is one person in your life that God may be intentionally placing on your heart right now?
