Steve is the artist relations manager for Merlefest, and co-host of the Merlefest radio hour. Merlefest attracts crowds consistently exceeding 75,000 in number, making it one of the largest music festivals in the United States. It is estimated that the festival brings over $10 million in business and tourist revenue to Wilkes County and surrounding areas each year. Steve is all that and much more. I call him the Pablo Escobar of Americana music but in a good way. Steve and sit down to talk about all things Americana music, the push and pull of tradition and innovation, the effect of technology and were it's all headed.
