Questions About This Episode

What is Albums vs Singles: Everything You Need To Know about?

This episode is brought to you by: 51 Lemons – creating financial freedom for independent artists. Do you really need to record and release a series of albums to ‘make it’? For now, many mainstream artists still choose to record and release albums - you might not have to! On this episode, the Nashville Unsigned team takes on the question that has become increasingly important, and often unasked by independent artists. In the age of music streaming, ADD culture, and market saturation; many artists, including many mainstream artists have changed their tune on releasing their tunes in the form of singles. While albums may have been the industry standard release strategy for what seems like forever, times have changed. The process of writing, recording, mixing, mastering, marketing and then finally releasing an album is an expensive and time consuming process, and may benefit certain artists. For example, you may choose to record and release a full album to showcase a certain idea over a series of songs, or capture a moment in time. But for many independent artists on a budget, recording and releasing singles provides an opportunity to grow awareness, engage with your audience and make a little money in the process!
