Did you know the average woman uses 17,000 tampons or pads in her lifetime? Each disposable menstrual pad uses the equivalent of 4 plastic bags of plastic. That adds up to 68,000 plastic bags that one woman would use if using disposable menstrual pads. Not only is the environment paying the price but if we take into account the price of tampons or pads, panty liners, pain killers, birth control, chocolate, acne medication and heating pads, your period could cost you over $18,000 over the course of your lifetime.You would be able to save a lot of money by making a switch to a reusable pad or menstrual cup and it comes with many more advantages. In today's podcast episode I was able to catch up with the founder of woman's space, Vanessa Woodthorpe Wright where we discussed more about the womb as well as her beautiful colourful reusable pads.
