Questions About This Episode

What is The View from Chair Level Ep. 9: Managing Cerebral Palsy by Diane Walker # 3 keep your bones strong about?

(Hosted & Produced by Marlon "Shymar" Molinos) The View From Chair Level is a talk show that discusses various topics from the viewpoint of Marlon Molinos an individual living with Cerebral Palsy since birth. The goal of this show is to inspire everyone to look past your limitations and find creative ways to accomplish your daily goals. A free mind is limitless and you are the only one that sets your own limits. Featured Song : Eminem - Till I Collapse One out of every three people over age 65 falls every year in the U.S. Falls are an even bigger danger if you're dealing with a disability. Reduce the risk of bone breaks from falls by getting sufficient Vitamin D, and strength training with light weights, if possible. The more I think about this topic, the more it makes me think about how I've been living my life and all the possible regrets of things I could've done growing up. Should I have been working out more, would things have changed for me if I had been more focused on my physicality as far as making sure that when I get up in the morning the first thing that I should have done was put in a little exercise. Yes, I could've thought of all that and reflect on what ifs, but I've always said to myself that I can't change the past. The only thing I could do now is just see what I can do to make my future better. The fear of my bones breaking as I get older does scare me, but I have always been the kind of person that has always thought to myself that everything you do, good or bad has led to the life you have. You still have the free will to decide on your future options. Ms. Walker talks about making sure that as a person with Cerebral Palsy it's best to keep your bones strong, so it doesn't break. I can understand that and I guess the only thing to do that I choose to do is find some vitamin D and possibly control my eating habits. This I can do. Life is all about choices. As with everything else, what we choose to do, and the decisions we make; shapes who we are meant to be. I can't say that every decision I've made was the best one, but I can say that every decision made in my adult life up to now has been mine to make and not forced by anyone else. It's always best to take friends and family's advice into consideration as they always have your best interest at heart, but the final decision is always yours and you deal with those consequences every day. Marlon Molinos – "It doesn't matter how a disability or situation is acquired. What matters is how you overcome, survive, and thrive with it."
