Learn Levantine with Livi: Introduction

Welcome to an introduction to Learn Levantine with Livi. *Below is an English translation of the text you will be hearing in Arabic) This is a podcast for intermediate students of Levantine Arabic. In each podcast you will hear a conversation between me and a native speaker. At the beginning of each podcast I will introduce some new vocabulary that you will hear in the conversation. My Arabic is not perfect at all, so I really hope that I can help you by offering you the chance to learn from my mistakes. In each episode, the native speaker will correct me and my pronunciation whenever I make a mistake and, whenever I get stuck I will ask them for help too. I have been really lucky to have had amazing teachers but the biggest thing that helped me improve my speaking was when I stopped caring about making mistakes and just started talking. Fortunately, I have lots of patient friends who are native speakers, so I try to speak with them as much as possible in Arabic and I stopped caring about making mistakes. Instead, I just talk and talk and I see the mistakes as chances to learn. I hope you enjoy the podcast and don’t forget - try and practice talking as much as you can and don’t be scared to slip up! I do it all the time, and it's always the case that we learn from our mistakes.
