I'm Coming Undone

True Compassion requires very little fanfare. She isn’t as sexy as a pronouncement or as catalyzing as a battle cry. In fact, compassion isn’t really about action at all. She is the still, small voice in the Darkness that says, “Come Closer, Let’s See.” The one that invites the leper to sit alongside, includes the outcast, protects the one about to be stoned. Reminding us that throwing a stone at our neighbor doesn’t make any sense at all... since we would only be throwing it at our Selves. It is time for us to Come Undone. Inside the Promise and Courage of Compassion. I don’t know if it will be enough. I worry that our ears have been tuned to ignore that which doesn’t outrage us. I wonder if inclusive words are as compelling as divisive ones. My inner warrior is pacing and restless. She wants a cause to fight for (or against.) I’ve invited her to come closer too. To join us in the Holy Fires of En-Light-Enment. Where our Undefended Heart is our only protection from being scorched by the heat of public scrutiny and ridicule. Where our prayer for a New Way meets the dissonance of a world gone mad. Growing in our capacity to love freely and without limits. To show up in vulnerability and faith. Standing humbly and simply for Kindness. Returning to our Understanding that all aspects of life are growth opportunities in various states of disguise, waiting to be unmasked. Recognizing the futility of shaking a fist at the world “out there,” while we Re-member that “out there” is simply a reflection of the world In Here. We will show you our shameful, grieving, separated, shadowy Selves by way of Offering. By way of Activation. By way of Permission. Dying to what isn’t Real in service of actually Living. Uniting the Factions through our willingness to go first. To ‘Out' ourselves. Today I will Come Undone. As I have done many, many times before and will do untold times in the future. Every time is terrifying. The world shouts loudly about my wrongness, my allies are looking for someone to burn. With the mob whipped up into a frenzy, becoming Visible seems like an insane thing to be doing. And so that is just what I will do. I will surrender my holding to a trusted sister for my turn in the Holy Hot Seat. Kelley Reynolds - a devoted student of this work and longtime Initiate of this Temple - has agreed to step forward as Leader of this session. A culmination of years of work between us around wounding, race, and Essence - she will facilitate the exploration of where privilege lives inside of me and we will see what illusions can be healed and Truths liberated in the journey Inward. Entrusting myself into the arms and heart of a woman who is able to sort through her truth and trigger. To let compassion take the lead. You are invited as Witness. A fierce prayer of hearts on fire.
